OREANDA-NEWS. Santa Clause is coming to Frankfurt Airport City (FRA). In fact, a bunch of Santa Clauses are en route to FRA, where they will spread holiday cheer throughout the terminals – part of the festivities, shopping specials and more at Germany’s gateway to the world. With their long white beards and dressed up in red outfits, these jolly Santas will be carrying sacks full of tasty treats for passengers during December. Children and adults alike will be able to savour the free gingerbread cookies to be handed out to passengers and visitors. Transformed into a gigantic Christmas Market, the departure halls and piers have already been festively decorated.

If you’re looking for presents for your loved ones, you’ll find plenty to choose at Frankfurt Airport’s more than 300 shops and service outlets, located before and after the security checkpoints. Our shops are chockfull of unusual gift ideas and attractively priced Christmas specials. Start early by checking out our store selection and specials online at www.frankfurt-airport.com: select the language of your choice at the upper right, and then click on the “Shopping” tab. Throughout the terminals, you will find Christmas shopping leaflets in five different languages as well as 10-euro vouchers to use at FRA. On Christmas Eve, the shops in the terminals will stay open until 18:00, for last-minute shopping. A voucher for two hours of free parking at the airport is available in the December issue of Journal Frankfurt, a German-language city magazine for the region.

From December 2 to 20, the wonderful sounds of the holiday season will fill FRA’s terminal piers and transit areas. An organ grinder will wander from gate to gate. A trio of orchestral string players will perform classical music. The three-woman singing group known as Engelsgleich (Angelic) will enchant November 21, 2013 travelers with popular Christmas carols. Another special holiday highlight will be the Lufthansa choir called Angels on Air, performing on December 11.

These FRA Christmas activities are a further example of the many initiatives being offered under FRA’s “Great to Have You Here!” quality service program – launched by Fraport AG to make transferring and departing via Germany’s largest aviation hub even more comfortable and easier. In 2012, Frankfurt Airport welcomed more than 57 million passengers.
