FAS Participates in Energy Dialogue of EU & RF
OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2013. The Energy Markets and Strategies Group, one of the four Thematic Groups of Russia – EU Energy Dialogue, held a meeting at “Exploration, Production, Processing (EPP) 2013” - the International Forum and Exhibition.
Deputy Head of FAS Department for Control over Fuel-and-Energy Complex, Daria Savina, and Deputy Head of the FAS Department for Control over Electric Power Industry, Dmitry Vasiliev, made presentations on specifics of antimonopoly regulation and control on the domestic markets of oil and oil products, and electric power industry.
The purpose of the Energy Dialogue is to develop a long-term partnership between the EU and Russia. Experts focused on oil and natural gas, energy efficiency, coopertation for integrating electric power networks of Russia and the EU, trade with nuclear materials, and increasing safety of their use.
Russia and the European Union endeavor to achieve sustainable energy markets and reliable import and export of increasing amount of energy sources, and recognize an impelling need in modernizing Russian energy sector. Both parties would like to see increased energy and reduced greenhouse emissions as a result of power generation and its use in their economies. The overall aim of the Energy Dialogue is to enhance energy security of the European continent by establishing closer relations between Russia and the EU on all issues of mutual interests in the energy sector.
