EIB Supports Sberbank Overseas Subsidiaries
OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2013. Sberbank and European Investment Bank (EIB) concluded the Framework Deed of Guarantee. The agreement was signed by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Andrey Donskih and the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank Wilhelm Molterer.
"The agreement will not only contribute to the increase of business volumes between Sberbank and EIB, but will also enlarge the geography of our relationship – we have a pipeline of joint projects in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina", mentioned Andrey Donskih.
"I am delighted to sign this Framework Deed of Guarantee with Sberbank today. We highly value the cooperation with Sberbank which in particular enhances access to financing for SMEs and Mid-Cap companies at improved conditions", commented Molterer.
In November 2012 Sberbank and EIB concluded the Joint Statement of Cooperation, aimed at enhancing relationship between Sberbank and EIB globally. As of now EIB is one of the main creditors of Sberbank in Europe and Turkey, actively supporting municipal programmes, small and medium sized business, energy efficiency and securitization.
In June 2013 the Parties signed an Agreement on financing of Sberbank loans to small and medium sized business. Joint programme for facilitating SME business in Russia is being prepared in the framework of this Agreement.
