OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2013. Austria is one of the leading investors in Ukrainian economy. It was stated by the President at the Ukrainian-Austrian business forum in Vienna.

"Today, the volume of Austrian capital in Ukraine is more than 3 billion USD. It is almost 6% from the overall sum of foreign investments," the Head of State noted.

According to the President, investment cooperation of the two countries, particularly in the industrial sector of the economy, has been developing most actively in recent years.

Viktor Yanukovych noted that Ukraine had a lot of successful enterprises founded with participation of Austrian investors, particularly in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions.

The President called the construction of modern powerful wood processing plant of the company "Schweighofer Gruppe" a promising investment project of Austrian business in Ukraine.

The Head of State urged representatives of Austrian business circles to broaden spheres of their activity in Ukraine.

"I would like to stress one more time that the course for modernization and economic reforms is irreversible for Ukraine," he said.

"It is the best stimulus for enhanced cooperation with all foreign partners including Austria. Ukraine is open to the world," Viktor Yanukovych noted.

According to him, Ukraine will do everything possible to ensure optimal conditions for the attraction of Austrian investments.
