OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2013. "Ukrainian-Austrian cooperation in the development of alternative energy is mutually beneficial," the President emphasized.

"These joint efforts provide an opportunity to produce a "green" electric energy in Ukraine," the Head of State said to journalists in Vienna.

He reminded that Ukraine had built the biggest solar power plants in Europe.

The President also expressed gratitude to Austria for participation in the establishment of Chernobyl Fund.

"This fund uses resources collected in 2011. Austria is one of the countries that provided assistance in the construction of Chernobyl Shelter," Viktor Yanukovych said. 

The Head of State also noted that Ukraine supported the initiatives of Austria in the issues of environmental protection, particularly in the sphere of atomic energy security.
