OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2013. An officer of the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission, Dragomir Iliev, is undergoing training at the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia).

The training of a foreign expert takes place under the framework of the Memorandum on Understanding and Cooperation between FAS Russia and the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission. The Memorandum is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two bodies and supporting competitive conditions on all significant sectors of the economy of the European Union and Russia.

According to FAS and the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission, exchanging officers encourages better understanding of the specifics and the mechanisms of work of the antimonopoly authorities and exchanging experience between them, as well as possibilities for joint efforts in investigating cross-border cases.

On 20th November 2013, Dragomir Iliev will make a presentation on “Cartel Enforcement by the European Commission”.

“We are prepared to develop international cooperation with the antimonopoly authorities of all countries. Our foreign colleagues show interest to how FAS investigates cartel cases and we have something to tell”, said the Head of FAS Anti-Cartel Department, Andrey Tenischev.”
