PM of Latvia to Discuss Cooperation between EU and China
OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis will participate in the meeting of Prime Ministers of China and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), will attend the Business Forum and meet the Prime Ministers of China and Romania. The objective of the visit is to extend the economic relations.
Prime Minister of Romania Viktor Ponta in his invitation letter emphasizes that the Bucharest meeting will provide the opportunity to further strengthen the economic cooperation between the CEE countries and China.
The Business Forum will focus on the energy, transport, infrastructure, information technology and communications, agriculture and tourism sectors, as well as the financial and the banking sector. It will be opened by Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of the People's Republic China and V.Ponta, Prime Minister of Romania, as well as Prime Ministers of other CEE countries.
The Prime Minister will also have a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China. The officials plan to discuss the interests in the field of transit and logistics, opportunities to attract investments for business and infrastructure projects as well as opportunities for education export.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet Prime Minister of Romania V.Ponta. During the meeting the Prime Ministers will discuss the priorities of the political dialogue and economic cooperation, the introduction of the euro in Latvia, as well as Latvia's preparations for the Presidency of the EU Council in 2015, and other issues.
About the Business Forum:
The Business Forum is being organized within the framework of the meeting of Prime Ministers of China and CEE countries. About 1000 entrepreneurs from China and CEE countries, representing the public and private sector, will attend the forum. Latvia will be represented by companies operating in the fields of telecommunications, finance, banking, transport and logistics.
