OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2013. Sakhalin Road Safety Council - Sakhalin Energy’s social programme won the Leaders of Corporate Philanthropy award in the Best Programme (project) of Corporate Charity nomination.

The Council implements social projects to help to reduce the quantity of injuries and fatalities in road traffic accidents, as well as to cut the number of road traffic accidents in the whole.

Among the key directions of the activity: a campaign to promote the use of safety-belts, the provision of pre-hospital care at the place of road accident, Safe Route to School project, the improvement of the dangerous sections of road infrastructure and so on. This programme is realised by the partnership of Sakhalin Energy with the Sakhalin Government and Sakhalin Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The award ceremony took place in Moscow. “Each year it becomes more difficult to choose winners” – says Elena Feoktistova, the head of Corporate Social Responsibility Center of Russian Entrepreneurs and Industrialists Union. “The winners are truly leaders of Russian industry; they build the standards of policy in corporate social responsibility benefitting the society”.

The leaders of corporate charity — a joint project of Donors Forum, PricewaterhouseCoopers the worldwide auditing consulting firms and “Vedomosti” newspaper aiming to support, develop and promote the ideas of corporate charity. The target of project is to determine the best charity programmes and to spread the corporate charity information in business environment and in society in the whole.
