Agreement on FTA Moldova-EU Will Strengthen Economic Activity
OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2013. This was stated by the chief EU negotiator on the Agreement of the deep and comprehensive trade area between Moldova and EU Luke Devin at the press conference in Chisinau on the results of XIV meeting on Moldova - EU cooperation committee.
According to him, EU will continue to support Moldova within framework of this and other agreements. Luke Devin also reminded that European Commission has put forward a proposal on the complete liberalization of Moldovan wine exports to EU. In his turn, the head of subdivision for the "Eastern Partnership" within the framework of the European External Action Service (the former head of the EU Delegation in Moldova ) Dirk Schubel said that a free trade area agreement also relates to the Transnistrian region as well, which is considered a part of the overall customs territory of Moldova.
It is planned that Luke Devin will visit Tiraspol to find out the opinion of local authorities on this and other issues and answer their questions. Dirk Schubel welcomed the proposal of Chisinau to establish an advisory council, which will help the entrepreneurs of Transnistria to fit in terms of the free trade agreement EU- Moldova and to take advantage of its benefits.
Dirk Schubel said that during the XIV meeting of Moldova - EU cooperation committee, the sides discussed the most important issues in the field of reforms in justice, fighting corruption, improving the business climate, introduction of reforms in other areas, implementation of projects to support economic activity in the rural area , construction of roads and other important projects.
