OREANDA-NEWS.  November 22, 2013. In natural terms, the purchase decreased 1.1% to 2 billion 867.6 million kWh, The National Energy Regulatory Agency reports.

In monetary terms, the purchase increased 1.1% to MDL 465.9 million at RED Nord; 6.8% to MDL 248.9 million at RED Nord-Vest and 3.9% to MDL 2 billion 069.2 million at RED Union Fenosa. In natural terms, in January-September, 2013 RED Nord bought from domestic and external power producers close to 477 million kWh, down 1.9% against the same period of 2012. RED Nord-Vest bought 256.4 million kWh, down 0.2%, RED Union Fenosa purchased 2 billion 134.3 million kWh, down 1%.

In the reporting period, inner producers sold 505 million kWh, 2.6% down as compared with the same period of the last year. In particular, they sold about 85.6 million kWh to RED Nord, down 0.75 against the same period of the past year; 44.3 million kWh to RED Nord-Vest, down 9.6%; 375.1 million kWh to RED Union Fenosa.

As compared with the same period of 2012, in the reporting period external producers sold Moldova 0.7% less power at an amount of 2 billion 362.6 million kWh. In particular, the import decreased by 2.2% at 391.4 million kWh at RED Nord ; increased 2% to 212.1 million kWh at RED Nord-Vest and declined 0.7% to 1 million 759.2 million kWh at RED Union Fenosa. In monetary terms, the power import increased 6.5% to MDL 2 billion 040.7 million.

In particular, RED Nord increased the import by 4.6% to 339.8 million; the import of RED Nord-Vest grew 9.4% to 184.2 million and RED Union Fenosa imported 6.65 more power amounting to MDL 1 billion 516.8 million. It should be reminded that electricity generated by energy enterprises of Moldova, Transdniestria excluded, such as heating stations 1 and 2 and Costesti hydro power plant is enough to meet one third of Moldova’s power needs.

The rest is bought from Moldovan hydro power plant and DTEK Vostokenergo, the part of DTEK, the largest private energy company of Ukraine.
