Components in Dr.Web 9.0 Products for Windows Updated
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated the SpIDer Agent component (9.0.2.201310300), Dr.Web Net Filtering Service (9.0.4.11081), Dr.Web Scanning Engine (9.0.5.201310300), the Dr.Web Anti-rootkit API module (9.0.5.201311070) and configuration scripts in version 9 of its products Dr.Web Security Space and Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows. The update delivers fixes of the following defects:
A SpIDer Agent issue involving the incorrect processing of the port range parameter whenever a firewall packet-filtering rule was being created.
A traffic-filtering service problem when FTP data transfers would be blocked in the active mode and also when this component was interacting with Windows Firewall. An issue when the transmission of malicious files via ICQ 8 wouldn't be blocked if the option 'Check traffic in IM clients' was enabled. Excessive CPU usage during anti-virus scanning of the SSL traffic of a Skype client connected to a Facebook account.
Anti-rootkit flaws that might result in the abnormal termination of the scanning service and the freezing of Windows. In addition, routines for neutralising active infections have been improved.
Configuration script changes address an issue involving the accidental deletion of Dr.Web firewall settings (while the option to save them is enabled) when the product was uninstalled.
Minor tweaks were also made to English-language Help texts.
The update will be performed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.
