OREANDA-NEWS. The fifth flight model of the prospective 5th - generation fighter aircraft (PAK-FA, T-50) arrived to the M.M.Gromov Flight Research Institute's airfield in Zhukovsky near Moscow. The flight of the aircraft was performed with three intermediate stopovers from Komsomolsk-on-Amur, production location of these aircraft at the Y.A.Gagarin (KnAAZ) aviation plant. The T-50-5 was piloted by the Distinguished test pilot of the Russian Federation, the Hero of Russia, Aircraft Sports Master of the Russian Federation of the International Class Yuri Vashchuk. The aircraft performed well during the flight. There were no reprimands on the performance of engines, systems or equipment.

The aircraft will join the flight tests in Zhukovsky. Currently there are four 5th - generation fighter aircraft undergoing these tests. Two more planes are involved in ground tests - one as a complex ground stand and the other undergoes static tests.

In January this year the PAK FA made the first flight from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to Zhukovsky with several stopovers. The Т-50-4 was piloted then by the Distinguished test pilot the Russian Federation, the Hero of Russia Sergey Bogdan.

The T-50-5 made its maiden flight in Komsomolsk-on-Amur on October 28 this year.

The very first flight of the PAK FA took place on January 29, 2010.
