OMK Receives Human Capital'13 Award
OREANDA-NEWS. The United Metallurgical Company (CJSC OMK, Moscow) was announced as the winner of the Human Capital'13 contest in the category, Best Project in Programs for Graduates and Young Specialists. The award was for OMK's industrial vocational guidance game for secondary school students.
This was the fourth time The Human Capital contest was held. It rates the best projects in the sphere of professional training and HR. This was the first time OMK participated in the contest. The industrial business vocational guidance game for secondary school students is a unique product developed by specialists from the United Metallurgical Company and its educational partner, Zanyato.ru. The game is designed to stimulate students' vocational identity and to develop their business, communication, and social skills through an interesting game based on designing an active, fully functioning plant. As part of the game, OMK annually holds vocational guidance testing of all students in the 9th grade in Vyksa. Senior students who are adept at exact sciences and technology are offered to participate in the game. Alongside the playing process, students are told what professions are in demand at the Vyksa production facilities at OMK, and are shown a real metallurgical production facility to make their profession choice more informed. The industrial game is a great example that demonstrates the possibilities of cooperation between an employer and future employees (beginning as early as the school years). OMK's partners in the industrial project are the OMK-Uchastie fund, Zanyato.ru, and the Education Department of Vyksa City District Authority.
“OMK is pleased to be acknowledged by our professional community. This award is the result of work that was done by a large number of OMK employees whose daily activities contribute extensively to developing and offering vocational guidance to young Vyksa citizens. The most important thing is that the industrial game is highly appreciated by those for whom it was developed. Students really like it and we are proud of that,” said OMK HR Director Svetlana Nikolashina.
