OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2013. During 10 months of 2013 the volume of cargo between Ukraine and the European Union have increased as compared to the same period of last year by more than 4% and amounted of 39.4 million tons in all kinds of transportation modes.

Between Ukraine and the countries of the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia the volume of cargo during the same period decreased by 8.4% and amounted of 79.96 million tons in all kinds of transportation modes.

Larger share of the volumes with countries of the European Union is export traffic amounted of 35.2 million tons, which is 2.7% less than for 10 months in 2012. On the second place is import transportation amounted of 3.36 million tons (24.6% more than for the same period of last year). The volume of goods with EU countries that transit through the territory of Ukraine is 880.7 thousand tons, which is 3.8% less than for 10 months of 2012.

Previously it was reported that for 8 months of 2013 the traffic volumes between Ukraine and the EU accounted of 29.74 million tons and compared to the same period of last year increased by 2%.

Between Ukraine and the countries of the Customs Union, the volume of cargo for 10 months of 2013 decreased by 8.4% and amounted of 79.96 million tons in all kinds of transportation modes.

Recall that the State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine "Ukrzaliznytsia" announced its willingness to increase the volume of freight traffic as with the EU, and the Customs Union. Infrastructural capacity of Ukrainian railway has the capacity to increase the volume of traffic in the western and the eastern borders (by 10-50%).
