Govt of Ukraine to Cease Development of Negative Scenario in Economics
OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2013. The task to spare every effort in order to cease the development of a negative scenario in economics, set by the Head of the state, is direct responsibility of the Government. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov declared during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Premier emphasized that the day before the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych had met with representatives of the Union of industrialists and entrepreneurs, leaders of large industrial enterprises and also Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. There was held a serious and straight talk about a threatening situation for the national economics in the end of the current year that can be prolonged in the following year, if we don’t find the ways to overcome negative tendencies immediately.
“The President shares deep concern of leaders of enterprises and trade unions that certain industries cease operation, there is a real prospect to lose workplaces, incomes of people and revenues of the budgets. And as a result: reducing of capacity of the state to maintain the level of social protection, strain in implementation of social liabilities,” Mykola Azarov noted and added the previous week he had met with leaders of large Ukrainian enterprises as well.
“The Head of the state has set a task to all state authorities: to spare no effort in order to cease development of a negative scenario,” Mykola Azarov said. “It is the direct responsibility of our Government. What must we do?”
The Head of the Government called as a top priority preserving of Russian market for our goods. Moreover, Mykola Azarov emphasized on the need “to principally and substantively put a question about normalizing of trade and economic relations during a sitting of the heads of governments of Commonwealth of Independent States which is slated for November 30, 2013, in St. Petersburg”.
Besides, it concerns thorough analysis of preparation of projects of international agreements in the framework of FTA of CIS. In particular, at today’s sitting the Government has to approve a series of normative acts concerning signing of international multilateral agreements, which are to be discussed during a sitting of the heads of CIS governments. It deals with changes to the Agreement on the Rules of determining of the origin country of goods and the Agreement on coordination of relations in electric power industry.
Moreover, according to the Head of the Government among the principal tasks was called support of domestic production, notably ensuring availability of long-term credits directed to modernization of production facilities.
Mykola Azarov stressed separately on importance of “the absolute and timely implementation of social liabilities of the state”.
