OREANDA-NEWS.  After a successful summer season in Europe Small Planet Airlines, a European leisure airline, is looking for more activities in continents with opposite seasons to Europe. The company's first project is a partnership with Bhutan Airlines.

Since mid-October, Small Planet Airlines has been flying for Bhutan Airlines from Bangkok to Paro (Bhutan) on a daily basis. The inaugural flight on October 10 has had the members of Bhutan’s Royal Family and other famous persons of the country. It is expected that this cooperation should help Bhutan to develop tourism and make the country more open to the world.

“This summer, we concentrated on holiday flights from European cities to popular tourist resorts in Turkey, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Egypt, etc. In winter, when there is a big fall in leisure travel in Europe, we are moving some of our planes to Asia where seasonality is inversed”, said Vytautas Kaikaris, CEO of Small Planet Airlines.

According to him, in the future the company is planning to start flights in other continents where the holiday season begins when its winter in Europe.

This year, Small Planet Airlines is planning for the first time in the company's history to fly over 1m passengers to become the first Lithuanian-capital company passing 1m mark ever.
