Electronics Lab Opened at University of Tartu
OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2013. The University of Tartu opened a new electronics lab that will allow for testing innovative prototypes by researchers and entrepreneurs alike.
The facility is fitted with modern diagnostics equipment, including Estonia's largest thermal camera, as well as an X-ray camera, a device for testing electronics schemes, a laser cutter and a printed circuit board milling machine, a press release from the university said.
University representatives said the new center will raise the quality of teaching and cooperation with entrepreneurs. Product development at the university has so far focused on the areas of energy efficiency, robotics, IT and medicine. New areas could include terrestrial applications of space technologies, analyses of user preferences and quick testing technologies.
