OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2013. Qatar Petroleum (QP) has once again highlighted its strong support to initiatives related to education with its role as one of the premium sponsors of the 5th World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), which was held at the Qatar National Convention Center.

QP’s sponsorship of WISE 2013 is under the directives of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, and it is consistent with QP’s firm commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). The corporation’s support to this annual event, which promotes innovation in education, is also in line with the objectives of the human development pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Held with the theme “Reinventing Education for Life,” WISE 2013 brought together over 1,200 prominent educators as well as corporate, political and social leaders from more than 100 countries worldwide for three days of networking and knowledge sharing. The annual gathering was first established in 2009 by Qatar Foundation under the patronage of its Chairperson, Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.

QP has long been a part of WISE, and in addition to its sponsorship of the event, the corporation also had an exhibition booth on the sidelines of the event. The QP booth featured the corporation’s extensive investment portfolio as well as its recently launched corporate vision. The booth was visited by a large number of WISE delegates, many of whom inquired about QP’s range of operations in the oil and gas industry.
