OREANDA-NEWS. FHI Announces Production, Japan Sales and Export Results for September 2013 and 1st Half of FY2014.

Production

In Sep 2013
Domestic production: 56,522 units (up 17.4% year-on-year)
Overseas production: 13,530 units (down 10.5% year-on-year)
Total: 70,052 units (up 2.8% year-on-year).

In Jan-Sep 2013
Domestic production: 467,575 units (up 12.5% year-on-year)
Overseas production: 129,803 units (down 7.5% year-on-year)
Total: 597,378 units (up 7.5% year-on-year).

In Apr-Sep 2013
Domestic production: 310,105 units (up 13.8% year-on-year)
Overseas production: 80,342 units (down 8.0% year-on-year)
Total: 390,447 units (up 8.5% year-on-year).

Led by strong demand for the Forester, domestic production rose year over year for the 9th straight month, setting a record for September. Overseas production declined from a year ago for the 5th month in a row, but total global production grew year over year for the 9th consecutive month, posting an all-time September production record.

Strong sales of the Impreza series and Forester drove the Apr-Sep production to post an all-time record for the period. Overseas production posted the first decline in two years, but total global production set an all-time record for the Apr-Sep period two straight years.

Japan Sales

In Sep 2013
Passenger vehicles: 13,120 units (up 10.7% year-on-year)
Mini vehicles: 5,722 units (up 22.8% year-on-year)
Total: 18,842 units (up 14.1% year-on-year).

In Jan-Sep 2013
Passenger vehicles: 99,884 units (up 30.2% year-on-year)
Mini vehicles: 43,185 units (down 29.1% year-on-year)
Total: 143,069 units (up 3.9% year-on-year).

In Apr-Sep 2013
Passenger vehicles: 62,576 units (up 31.7% year-on-year)
Mini vehicles: 26,608 units (down 4.0% year-on-year)
Total: 89,184 units (up 89.5% year-on-year).

Driven by popular models such as the Forester and Subaru XV, domestic sales of passenger cars increased from a year ago for the 16th straight month. Mini vehicle sales posted the first year-over-year increase in 5 months. Total Japan sales rose from the previous year for the 6th consecutive month.

Domestic sales for Apr-Sep period increased from the previous year for two years in a row, due to high demand for the Impreza series and Forester plus the June introduction of the Subaru XV Hybrid.

Export

Export in Sep 2013: 37,889 units (up 15.3% year-on-year)
Export in Jan-Sep 2013: 331,030 units (up 16.7% year-on-year)
Export in Apr-Sep 2013: 231,598 units (up 23.0% year-on-year)

Propelled by continued strong sales in North America as well as high demand for the Forester in other overseas markets, CBU exports grew year over year for the 8th consecutive month, setting an all-time export record for the month of September.

CBU exports for Apr-Sep period surpassed 200,000 units for the first time setting an all-time record for the period, driven by continued strong sales in North America as well as high demand for the Forester in other overseas markets.
