OREANDA-NEWS. Transstroymekhanisatsiya LLC, a subsidiary of OJSC Mostotrest, has won the open tender to enter into a government contract to perform work for the project “Construction of the Vladivostok - Nakhodka - Vostochny Port highway on the km0 - km18+500 section in Primorsky Territory. Startup facilities II and III”. Transstroymekhanisatsiya specialists will reconstruct the existing highway, including the construction of several engineering facilities, such as flyovers, bridges, and interchanges. The project is expected to be completed in 1Q2016.

The km0 - km18+500 section of the Vladivostok - Nakhodka - Vostochny Port highway is located within the Artyom Municipal District of Primorsky Territory and is the main traffic artery of the southern part of the Far East. The highway is a part of the traffic hub that incorporates the major Russian seaports Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Vostochny and belongs to the Primorye-1 international transport corridor. The open tender for the second and third startup facilities of the project to construct the km0 - km18+500 section of the Vladivostok - Nakhodka - Vostochny Port highway in Primorsky Territory was originally announced by the Primorsky Territory Highways Administration. The project design was developed by the Khabarovsk branch of OJSC GIPRODORNII. The contract value is RUB 7.2 billion (including VAT).

The new project continues reconstruction of the section “Startup facility I from km0 to km3+500”, which was put into operation in August 2012. Facilities II and III provide for reconstruction of the existing two-lane highway from the km3+500 point. On that section a new IB four-lane highway totalling 15 metres width will be built, consisting of four bridges (including the bridges across the rivers Ozyornye Klyuchi and Orlovka), and four flyovers, totalling 757 metres. Two flyovers will be incorporated into new multilevel interchanges. The first T interchange (a trumpet interchange) will separate the local road network of the village of Knevichi and transit traffic on the new highway; the second, a cloverleaf interchange, will be built at the crossing of the grade I Vladivostok - Nakhodka road and the category II Artyom - Artyomovski road. On km 8+500 at the railway crossings a single lane railway will be built, on km 15+500 a highway will be built over a two-lane railway.

Transstroymekhanisatsiya specialists will also build a pedestrian overpass and 33 pipe-culverts for water discharge.

The reconstruction is associated with complex traffic diversion requirements and construction of many temporary bypasses. Operations will be performed with no major routine breaks, which will be achieved by building a temporary bypass railway. The embankment for interchanges may be as high as 20 metres on some sections, in accordance with special standards and construction solutions. The construction of a cement concrete surface on speed change lanes requires special machinery and skilled personnel. The complex engineering component of the project - relocation of engineering, heat and sewerage networks, power cables and communications networks. The reconstruction of the existing railway will be performed in association with Russian Railways specialists.

The project deemed crucial for the Far Eastern Region will bring about an increase in freight and passenger traffic, boost the traffic capacity of the section under reconstruction and streamline transit traffic.
