OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2013. Prime Minister has instructed to activate the work on creation of general construction plan of cities. The relevant order Mykola Azarov gave during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Mykola Azarov said that recently there were many major town-planning transformations in Kyiv. In particular, it had been built new bridge over Dnipro for the first time for 13 years, over the past three years six Metro stations were put into operation, city train and fast trams run, transport interchange at the Moskovska Square, Ring Road, Stolychne Highway, Dniprovska embankment were also put into operation, capital got two international airports, new residential areas. Ahead the construction of the Metro to Troeschyna district, road tunnels and multi-level interchanges around the center and so on.

“Kyiv will develop in balance manner and harmony in relation to human needs and environmental protection. It is no longer a dream but a direct perspective and our development objectives. I demand that town-planning decisions that will be implemented in Kyiv become a catalyst of changes in other settlements of Ukraine too,” Mykola Azarov said. 

The Head of the Government instructed Vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul, the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services “to speed up the works on development of general plan of our towns.”

“They must not just be "updated", as regional administration has reported, but do general plans of development the institutional instruments. Investors should soon see clearly: where are residential development areas, where are industrial development areas and so on. And without investors the amount of change that must be done, obviously, is "not lifted". It's no coincidence the President of Ukraine sets the attracting of the investments as main task for the Government and regional administrations,” Mykola Azarov noted.
