Russian Railways Loads 105,9 mn Tons in October
OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2013. According to the latest figures, the Russian Railways' network loaded 105.9 million tons in October 2013, 4.7 % less than in October 2012.
Freight turnover in October 2013 increased compared to the same month last year by 1.4% to 191.1 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover including empty wagon runs in October 2013 rose 4.3 % compared to October 2012 to 244.5 billion ton- km.
According to the latest figures, loading in January to October 2013 amounted to 1.0302 billion tons, 3.2% less than during the same period in 2012. The railways shipped the following goods.
The percentage change compared to January-October 2012 is shown in brackets:
coal – 254.2 m tons (+0.4%);
coke – 9.5 m tons (-10.9%);
oil and petroleum products – 206.1 m tons (-3.1%);
iron and manganese ores – 92.4 m tons (+1%);
ferrous metals – 58.4 m tons (-5.3%);
ferrous metal scrap – 13.9 m tons (-9.9%);
chemical and mineral fertilisers – 38.6 m tons (+2.7%);
cement – 30.3 m tons (-1.8%);
timber – 30 m tons (-2.2%);
grain – 10.3 m tons (-31%);
construction materials – 148 m tons (-5.1%);
ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock – 17.4 m tons (-7.6%);
chemicals and soda – 21.7 m tons (-6.9%);
industrial raw materials and moulded materials – 28.5 m tons (-6%).
Freight turnover since the beginning of 2013 amounted to 1.8064 billion tariff ton-kilometers a decline of 2.2 % compared to the same period in 2012. Freight turnover including empty wagon runs amounted to 2.3134 ton-km, the same as for the analogous period last year.
