Moldova, Ukraine to Intensify Trade & Economic Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2013. Such an arrangement was reached at a meeting between Premier of Moldova Iurie Leanca and his Ukrainian counterpart Nikolay Azarov in Kyiv. Iurie Leanca invited the Premier of Ukraine to pay a visit to Chisinau in the framework of which a business forum would be organized. T
he invitation was accepted and Nikolay Azarov emphasized that more intensive cooperation would be contributed to by a sitting of the intergovernmental commission on trade-and-economic cooperation. He reminded that the sitting of the commission scheduled for May 2012 was not held.
According to Nikolay Azarov, such a mechanism as sittings of the intergovernmental commission allows speeding up the decision-making process on matters of bilateral cooperation. Finally, the counterparts suggested that the bilateral trade between the countries be extended and arranged to have the regular sitting of the intergovernmental commission on trade-and-economic cooperation held in Q1, 2014.
They also pointed out a necessity to find money to create the entire infrastructure near the bridge between Unguri and Bronnita and to construct the bridge over the Dniester connecting Soroca and Yampol. During the meeting such priority matters of bilateral agenda were given consideration as completion of borders demarcation, property relation regulations, energy cooperation, functioning of the Dniester hydro-power complex and environmental protection of the Dniester basin.
