OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2013. As part of holding of the Council of foreign and domestic investors under the President of Ukraine the V International Conference on the development of the automobile industry of Ukraine "AutoPROm 2013" has been opened. Organizers of the event are the Ukrainian Association of Automobile Manufacturers "Ukrautoprom" and the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine.

"In 2011-2013, about \\$ 50 million was invested in the automotive industry of Ukraine. One of the key departments of our Agency - InvestUkraine works with a number of automotive companies that have come today to the market and create new production. According to forecasts, which are based on signed documents between InvestUkraine and leading companies, we expect that next year's investment in the sector will grow in three times," Chairman of the Agency Vladyslav Kaskiv said in his speech.

According to him, InvestUkraine supports global market leaders - the leading Japanese, European and American companies - operating in Ukraine. They supply auto components and accessories for the automotive industry for such world leaders as Volkswagen Group, GMC, Toyota, PSA PEUGEOT CITROIN Group and others.

V. Kaskiv stressed that for localization of European production in Ukraine, the Agency also implements national project "Industrial Parks", in which the establishment of production sites for the development of automotive industry in Ukraine is provided.

The Chairman of the State Agency for Investment and National Projects noted: "Our country has a number of competitive advantages that are of interest among investors in the automotive industry. Among them are the country's location at the crossroads of markets between the EU and the Customs Union, the presence of a large domestic market and highly skilled workers. In addition, specific prospects for the automotive industry in Ukraine will be opened after the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU."

V. Kaskiv added that according to the Boston Consulting Group, the demand for cars in Ukraine in 7 years will increase by 2.5 times and around 500 000 cars will be sold in 2020.
