Moldova Is Interested in Signing of Agreement between Ukraine & EU
OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2013. Moldova is interested in the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. This was started by Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Yuri Leanca during a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.
"The signing of the Association Agreement and DCFTA in Vilnius corresponds not only to the national interests of Ukraine, but also the national interests of the Republic of Moldova. So, we wish you to find internal and external compromise and a great success for us in Vilnius will be not only our initialing (AA), but also in particular yours signing. And if we can somehow help you in this regard, we are happy to do that," Yuri Leanca said.
He also expressed hope that at the summit in Vilnius his country will receive approval from the European Commission of the Action Plan on visa-free regime
.
Ukraine and Moldova have also agreed to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation. In particular, Yuri Leanca invited Ukrainian counterpart to visit Chisinau and hold business forum.
He also expressed hope that at the Vilnius summit his country will receive approval from the European Commission Action Plan on visa-free regime.
Mykola Azarov has accepted the invitation and said that the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation will activate relations.
"We have not carried out in May 2012 regular meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. Let’s decide to hold the meeting. This mechanism allows faster solve urgent issues of bilateral cooperation," the Prime Minister of Ukraine said.
He proposed to hold a meeting in the first quarter of 2014.
