Business Delegation of Kazakhstan Visits Uzbekistan
OREANDA-NEWS. A business delegation of Kazakhstan led by deputy mayor of Southern-Kazakhstan region Saparbek Tuyakbaev visited Uzbekistan from 31 October to 2 November 2013.
The visit is aimed at developing interregional cooperation between Southern-Kazakhstan region and Tashkent region of Uzbekistan.
Within the visit, deputy mayor of Southern-Kazakhstan region Saparbek Tuyakbaev met with deputy governor of Tashkent region Anvar Abdukodirov and the sides discussed perspective directions of cooperation, including signing a memorandum of cooperation.
The delegation also participated at the roundtable, held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. It was attended by the delegation of Kazakhstan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, businesses of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
During the event, the participants considered issues of cooperation, experience of developing light and food industries, organization of meetings between business circles of two regions.
Deputy mayor of Southern-Kazakhstan region Saparbek Tuyakbaev outlined the perspective directions of cooperation. He said that the sides should develop cooperation in textile and food industries, tourism, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and alternative energy.
Tuyakbaev said that Uzbekistan opened a trade house in Shimkent and there are plans to create similar center of Kazakhstan in Tashkent.
It is also planned to hold forums in Shimkent, one of them will be held in November and dedicated to green economy. In March-April 2014, it is planned to hold an investment forum.
The Kazakh delegation visited the Seventh international industrial fair and cooperation exchange, which presented products and services of the Uzbek companies.
The delegation also visited grape processing plant Mehnat in Tashkent region, textile enterprises UzTex and Ozborn Texile.
