OREANDA-NEWS. Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd. announces that it launched operation of its solar power generation facility (mega-solar) in Moji-ku Kitakyushu-shi, Fukuoka Prefecture.

Idemitsu Kosan began construction of a mega-solar in Kitakyushu-shi in May of this year as a renewable energy project utilizing an unused site, and the facility has been completed and operations launched on November 1. A ceremony to mark completion was held at the power plant on November 6.

This marks the Company's first operation of a mega-solar. In addition to the facility in Kitakyushu-shi, construction of a mega-solar (power output: 10MW) is now underway in Himeji with the aim of launching operations next spring.

Idemitsu Kosan will continue to undertake the further expansion of its renewable energy business in order to contribute to the establishment of the best mix of Japan's energy supplies and secure domestic resources.
