MRPL Advocates Zero Tolerance for Corruption
OREANDA-NEWS. Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), a Schedule A subsidiary of ONGC rolled out its Vigilance Awareness Week activities yesterday with all the employees pledging themselves to work unstintingly for eradication of corruption in all spheres of life. ShriRavindranath, ITS, Chief Vigilance Officer,MRPL, Shri Vishnu Agrawal, Director (Finance), MRPL and Shri Vijay G Joshi, Director (Refinery) MRPL served the “vigilance” pledge in English, Hindi and Kannada respectively to Team MRPL.
ShriRavindranath, ITS, Chief Vigilance Officer of MRPL explained that promoting good governance is the need of the hour whether in Public Sector or Private Sector and Vigilance plays aproactive and positive role in effecting good governance as it promotes transparency and accountability.
Shri Vishnu Agrawal, Director (Finance) urged everyone to have zero tolerance for corruption and malpractice. He cautioned against the colossal damage to society and the Nation that will accrue if corruption is tolerated.
ShriVijay Joshi, Directory Refinery, MRPL pointed out that just as citizens rely on governments, Government trusts Public Sector Undertakings to manage public resources and provide essential services in today's complex societies and therefore good governance is a critical responsibility.
During this weekfrom 28th October to 2nd November 2013, Vigilance Department of MRPL will hold a series of communication activities to sensitize stakeholders on the significance of good governance and to promote preventive and proactive vigilance.
