Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), a Schedule A subsidiary of ONGC concluded their Vigilance Awareness Week activities today with ShriUpadhya, MD, MRPL urging all employees of MRPL to dedicate themselves to vigilant workingfor the rest of the year with the same amount of sensitivity and focus on good corporate governance, transparency, accountability and ethical working.

In his welcome address ShriRavindranath, ITS, Chief Vigilance Officer of MRPL pointed out that for someone in a public office or a PSU, commitment to duty and accountability are sacrosanct; This was repeatedly emphasized by ShriSaroha, (Deputy Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission) the Chief Guest on the occasion. ShriSaroha elaborated on the critical values and yardsticks to be followed for blemishless transparent working with utmost attention to competence, ethics and integrity. Pulling out a golden leaf of wisdom from the ancient texts of India, “BudhhamSharanamGacchami, DharmanSharanamGacchami”, ShriSaroha advocated the need for creating an ethical, value-based rejuvenating reality for oneself through ones actions, duties performed and accountability. Vigilance as a function only seeks to safeguard and facilitate such working, he pointed out.

Shri K. Lakshminarayana, Group General Manager (Human Resource) MRPL, summed up the highlights of the week's activities. Prizes won by employees, dependants and children of DPS MRPL in the various competitions conducted during the week were given away by the Chief Guest, MD, & CVO MRPL.
