Wizz Air Launched New Route from Vilnius to Tel Aviv
OREANDA-NEWS. On 30th October, 2013, the low-fare low-cost airline Wizz Air has launched a new route from Vilnius to Tel Aviv. The inaugural departure from Vilnius International Airport was greeted by Israeli Ambassador to Latvia and Lithuania.
First Wizz Air's flight from Vilnius International Airport to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport departed today at 4:45 PM on Vilnius time. The route is one of two new destinations introduced during the winter season of VIA and will initially be operated with 2 weekly frequencies.
Israeli Ambassador to Lithuania, Hagit Ben-Yaakov said: “We have strong and fruitful relationships with Lithuania and now we enrich them even more by launching these direct flights on rout Vilnius - Tel Aviv that will, no doubt, contribute and promote the tourism in both states tremendously”.
Wizz Air's corporate spokesman Daniel de Carvalho said: “We are thrilled to start our operations between Vilnius and Tel Aviv. Passengers from Lithuania now have access to Wizz Air's low fares beyond Europe. Wizz Air will offer 45,000 seats on this route in the next twelve months. We hope that Vilnius will benefit from the inflow of tourists from Israel to visit the Jerusalem of the North and stimulate job creation in tourism and hospitality sectors. On the other hand the Lithuanian consumers will appreciate visiting beautiful Tel Aviv all year round and have access to a premier winter sun destination.
