OREANDA-NEWS. Uralmashplant completed the manufacture of the supporting frame, one of the major units of walking dragline ESH 15.90. In addition to the supporting frame the plant will also supply new electric equipment, data system, a number of assemblies and mechanisms to the customer until the end of October. USD3-million worth contract for the update of walking dragline ESH 15.90 with NCL Company (Northern Coalfields Ltd.) was signed in August 2012.

This dragline ESH 15.90 (serial number 107) was in service for 33 years performing stripping operations at Jayant Open Cast Mine, i.e. 10 years more than the service life specified in its certificate. After this update the dragline will be in service for 10-15 years minimum (!).

- These figures demonstrate the reliability of Uralmash excavators. In fact, our draglines earned the fame of most long-lasting machines by right, - said Andrey Saltanov, General Director of Uralmashplant.

The update will extend the machine life and add new features to it. The dragline will be equipped with modern digital control system, fire-detection and fighting system, video monitoring system, central lubrication system with components supplied by Lincoln Company. All these updates will increase operating life of equipment, reduce maintenance time and costs, increase dragline capacity and reliability.

Thanks to well-coordinated and effective work of all plant specialists, the new supporting frame for Indian customers was manufactured with high quality and shipped in time. Experienced welders of the plant including Maksim Ivanov, Eldar Ziyazetdinov and Rinat Gilmetdinov welded the components and sections of the supporting frame.

The updated dragline will be commissioned in March of 2014.

In case of successful and timely finishing of this dragline updating, NCL Company is ready to continue cooperation and to sign another contract for updating of the following ESH 20.90. This Indian company has five walking draglines supplied by Uralmashplant at different times.
