Alfa-Bank Ukraine Launches Syndicated Loan
OREANDA-NEWS. Alfa-Bank Ukraine has successfully raised a USD 72.5 million Syndicated loan with one year maturity on the international capital markets. The proceeds will be used by Alfa-Bank Ukraine for trade finance and general corporate purposes.
The active Bookrunner is Alfa-Bank Russia. The Mandated Lead Arrangers on the financing are Alfa-Bank Russia, HSBC Bank Plc, Novikombank. Amsterdam Trade Bank N.V., East-West United Bank S.A., and SMP Bank are the Lead Arrangers. Promsvyazbank and MDM Bank are the Lead Managers, and М2М Private Bank is the Manager. The facility was more than twice oversubscribed.
"Launching a Syndicated loan has caused greater interest in the markets. As a result of successful transaction completion, Alfa-Bank became the first - and for the moment the only - private bank in Ukraine to raised funds in the international capital markets since 2008," said Rushan Khvesyuk, Chief Executive Officer of Alfa-Bank Ukraine, "Due to Alfa-Bank's long-term history of cooperating with foreign investors, the raising became possible despite the country ratings downgrade and under closed capital markets. Investors are assured of getting a stable income from a trusted partner and Alfa-Bank in turn had the opportunity to expand business and increase its loan portfolio."
