DIA Holds Denver International Airport Day
OREANDA-NEWS. Business owners and entrepreneurs who are interested in doing business at Denver International Airport (DIA) are invited to attend the third annual “DIA Day” on Nov. 4 at the Renaissance Denver Hotel.
DIA Day is a free seminar that teaches entrepreneurs and local companies the ins and outs of how to do business at the nation's largest airport. The seminar also highlights specific business opportunities at the airport, including available work on airfield concrete projects, the Hotel and Transit Center Program, concession build-outs and procurements of goods and services. The event is sponsored by the DIA Commerce Hub, which acts as an advocate for small businesses at DIA.
“DIA Day provides a unique chance to learn about the procurement and contracting process at DIA, as well as insight about the opportunities and challenges of working in our secure, 24/7 environment,” said Kim Day, Denver's Manager of Aviation. “Over the next few years, we are transforming about 75 percent of our shopping and dining experiences, which generated USD 281 million in gross revenue last year. There are also continued opportunities to work on our USD 544 million Hotel and Transit Center Program and other airport projects.”
This year's program includes breakout sessions that provide an overview about doing business at DIA and “speed dating” sessions that focus on specific aspects, such as: bonding and insurance requirements; the airport's Retail Merchandising Units program; procurement opportunities for the Hotel and Transit Center Program; upcoming concession opportunities; working with airport security and information about the DIA Commerce Hub. Lunch will be provided.
