VMTP Increased Vehicles Throughput by 39% in September 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. In September 2013, VMTP (a subsidiary of FESCO Transportation Group) handled 5,712 import vehicles, which exceeds by 39% the indicator of the similar period of the previous year.
Import cars throughput is an important business for VMTP. In 1H2013, the market share of VMTP in vehicles throughput in the Far Eastern Region increased considerably as compared with 1H2012 amounting to 49% (versus 32% in 1H2012). The traffic of the of foreign-manufactured transport vehicles at VMTP is stably growing mainly due to the development of storage facilities, which meet the requirements of the worldwide standards and include two multilevel parking lots (7 and 10 levels) and open storage areas.
The quality of VMTP operations receives recognition from of the international companies, which require high standards of the vehicles processing. Recently, VMTP resumed cooperation with Toyofuji Shipping Co (Japan-Vladivostok international line operator). As a result, after a five-year interruption period the vessel "Тrans Pacific 5" with 100 vehicles on board was unloaded in VMTP. The unloading was performed at the Car Terminal located at Pier 4. From now, Toyofuji Shipping Co vessels will call Vladivostok port once a month, enabling connection of VMTP with three Japanese ports: Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka.
