OREANDA-NEWS. Metalloinvest announced the results of the competition conducted among Stary Oskol region schools which applied for grant within 'Our Future' programme. In 2013, Metalloinvest provided RUB 10 million towards the programme.

Ten kindergartens of the region have already received financial assistance from Metalloinvest as part of 'Our Future' programme. The funds will be used to purchase new technical equipment and children's furniture and pay for buildings renovation. The allocation of funds was based on a competition between schools on their vocational qualifications programmes. The main evaluation criterion is the number of school graduates who entered higher education establishments (universities and colleges) to study subjects relevant to the Company's activities. The winning schools will receive grants which can be used to improve their facilities, and enhance the quality of education and vocational training.

Fifty five schools participated in the competition (33 town and 22 village schools). In 2013, the grant was distributed among five winners.

n addition, this year, Metalloinvest introduced a new project 'The essence of Motherland' as part of the educational support programme. The project aims to promote the knowledge of national history and culture, as well as the region among schoolchildren.

'Our Future' programme aims to play a key role in the social and employment policy of Metalloinvest, and the Company will continue to support education in all regions of its operations. Over the last three years, Metalloinvest contributed around RUB 80 million towards educational establishments of Stary Oskol region.
