OREANDA-NEWS. The United Metallurgical Company (CJSC OMK, Moscow) held the second “Together to New Projects” conference for product suppliers. The event took place in Chalyabinsk at the Trubodetal Plant (JSC Trubodetal, a part of OMK). The aim of the conference was to inform both current and potential suppliers about OMK's projects relating to the construction of new plants and the modernization of existing production facilities. The event attracted over 90 executives and specialists from different companies in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, the United States, and United Kingdom. OMK was represented by the company's Vice-President, Eduard Stepantsov, Purchasing Director, Alexander Tsiulev, Executive Director of Trubodetal, Igor Voronin, Director of the Trubodetal branch in Chusovoy, Dmitry Markov, as well as purchasing specialists of the company's central office, Trubodetal and Blagoveschensk Valve Plant.

The conference participants discussed outlooks and new possibilities for cooperation, had the opportunity to talk personally, and solved issues on how to most efficiently cooperate. OMK representatives provided information about corporate rules of participation in purchase procedures, including the rules that will be guiding the project to construct a pipe and steelmaking complex in Chusovoy, Perm Krai. They also outlined the potential to cooperate with existing production facilities in the Ural region: Trubodetal in Chelyabinsk and Blagoveschensk Valve Plant in Blagoveschensk (Bashkortostan).

The conference was held in a city in the Urals not by chance. It is the Ural city Chusovoy where OMK will be constructing a unique production facility - a pipe and steelmaking complex - the largest investment project in the present-day metallurgical industry with investments worth 50 billion RUB. This large-scale construction site will involve many contractors and suppliers of various products and services.
