OREANDA-NEWS. Ukraine has become a full-fledged member of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes (OECD). OECD Global Forum Chairman Kosie Louw informed Minister of Incomes and Fees of Ukraine Olexandr Klymenko in a letter sent to his name.

“I am glad for the initiative of Ukraine in assuming liabilities to stick to the international standards of transparency and exchange of information for tax purposes,” Mr. Louw stressed in his address.

Ukraine has become the 121-st member of the Global Fund - the largest organization in the world in exchange of tax information between competent services of the member-states. OECD declares as its goal introduction of standards of transparent international tax environment on the basis of criteria determined by G20 Leaders' Declaration. In particular, one of the most significant issues is elaboration of recommendations to prevent machinations with use of offshore jurisdictions.

The country which joins the organization assumes commitments to introduce relevant standards of transparency, immediate exchange of information with other participants of the Global Fund and also agrees to expert evaluation of internal tax environment by OECD specialists. Presently, experts of the Forum, according to the presented in July of 2013 report, made 98 reports. In November 50 countries are to obtain respective ratings for compliance of standards of transparency and exchange of information.

Expert evaluation of the situation in Ukraine has been planned for the end of 2014. According to the Global Forum Chairman Kosie Louw, “making of such expert evaluation will give opportunity to demonstrate to the society those efforts having been made by Ukraine targeting intensification of a role of tax service and give opportunity to share other information in tax area”.

Apart from that, Minister Olexandr Klymenko received from Kosie Louw an invitation to attend the session of the Global Forum slated for November 21-22 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
