USK MOST Opened Traffic on New Highway Bridge over Amur Channel
OREANDA-NEWS. Normal traffic was opened on October 23 on a highway bridge to Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island over the Amur Channel.
Vyacheslav Shport, Governor of the Khabarovsk Region, and Maxim Sokolov, Russian Federation Transport Minister, took part in the inauguration.
The total length of the bridge including the approaches is 5.1 kilometers, and the bridge is 956.94 meters long. The design vehicle speed is 120 km/hr. The construction began in October 2011.
The new bridge that spans over the Amur Channel connects the mainland Khabarovsk Region to Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island and on to China.
