OREANDA-NEWS. A unique Aviation on Currency Notes exhibition was opened at NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport, dedicated to the history of air transport depicted on banknotes and coins of multiple countries and referring to different historical periods.

S7 Airlineswas announced as the partner of the event. The rare exhibits - monetary units of countries from all the continents - were assembled by private collectors from Novosibirsk and with the participation of Sibirskaya Gornitsa (“Siberian Ben”) antiquarian second-hand bookshop.

Money is one of the best-attested indicators of historical process, always truly illustrating current political and economical moment. In the 20th century, with air service having become much-in-demand, the aviation took its rightful place on currency notes of all the states. The show-ground implies descriptions of over 30 different bonds and coins, specially provided by collector and historian Ivan Bezdenezhnyh, a graduate of the Novosibirsk State University, Faculty of Humanities, History Department. Starting from 2010, the author publishes history and bonistics essays on his web-site (www.bezdec.com <http://www.bezdec.com>) as well as collaborates with various publishers.

At the official opening ceremony the general director of Airport Tolmachevo JSC Evgeniy YANKILEVICH noted that the airport hosts such unconventional exhibition for the first time ever. “The historical facts gathered will attract attention of not only collectors and passengers but also numerous civil aviation experts, thus, proving that the industry was and still is many people's affection,” commented Evgeniy YANKILEVICH.

Ivan BEZDENEZHNYH expressed his gratitude to Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport for support and underlined that cultural projects hosted by airports are becoming commonplace all over the globe. Waiting for their flight connection in the terminal, passengers are offered the “traditional” package of services alongside of cultural leisure activities.
