OREANDA-NEWS. Heibei plans to set up 13 to 15 major innovation bases during the Twelfth Five-year Plan period (2011-2015), according to the Hebei provincial department of science and technology and development and reform commission.

The plan proposed innovation bases for strategic emerging industries, traditional competitive industries and agriculture during the Twelfth Five-year Plan period, including electrical engineering, solar energy, intelligent transportation equipment, agricultural and biological engineering.

The innovation bases are to build under the leadership of the government, some backbone enterprises and the innovation union.
