The total throughput of Klaipeda Port and in Butinges terminal within the period of January-September of 2013 totalled 32 mln. tn of seaborne cargo, the aggregate change of cargo handling turnover was +0,3 pct. if to compare with the corresponding period of 2012. The cargo handling turnover in Klaipeda Port within the analysed period reached 25,1 mln. tn, the year-on-year change was -3 pct. or -776,7 thou. tn, meanwhile 6,9 mln. tn of cargo were handled at Butinges terminal, the year-on-year change being +14,6 pct. or +879,67 thou. tn.Comparing with the corresponding period of 2012 the most significant growth of cargo handling volumes in Klaipeda Seaport and at Butinges terminal in January - September of 2013 was reached due to increased handling rates of liquid cargoes (the growth reached 3,4 pct. comparing with the corresponding period of 2012); the highest handling rates were recorded in the handling turnover of crude oil products (+ 14,6 pct. or +879, 6 thou. tn yoy).

In terms of cargo groups the handling volumes of dry and bulk cargo in Klaipeda Seaport marked the decrease by -1,2 pct. yoy to 10 083,5 thou. tn. The significant growth of handling rates of cargoes belonging to this cargo group has been recorded in the handling volumes of agriculture products (2 036,3 thou. tn, +53,3 pct. or +708,2 thou. tn yoy) and raw and processed minerals and construction materials (1 637,9 thou. tn, +22,2 pct. or +298,1 thou. tn yoy). Regardless of the highest decrease rate recorded in the handling turnover of natural and chemical fertilizers (-16,6 pct. or -1 014,2 thou. tn yoy), the handling volumes of this cargo type were the largest - 5 084,1 thou. tn.

The drop of general cargo handling volumes (- 2,9 pct.) in Klaipeda Seaport has started from the very beginning of the year. Only 7 943,5 thou. tn of general cargo were handled in January - September of 2013. The significant decrease of handling turnover was recorded in the following groups of cargo: packed natural and chemical fertilizers (328,3 thou. tn,-17 pct. or -67,2 thou. tn yoy), timber and forest products (356,2 thou. tn, -13,4 pct. or -55,3 thou. tn yoy). The handling turnover of containerised cargoes in terms of TEU increased and reached 298 325 TEU within the period of January - September of 2013 (+6,9 pct. or +19 343 TEU yoy).

5 070 vessels were reported to call Klaipeda Port and Butinges terminal in January - September of 2013. 69 vessels (+15 pct. or more by 9 vessels yoy) moored at Butinges terminal. Klaipeda Seaport received 5 001 vessel (less by -2 pct. or by 103 vessels comparing with the corresponding period of 2012 ).

The number of passengers within the analysed period was 286 678 passengers, i.e. more by +2,3 pct. or by 6 479 passengers comparing with the corresponding period of the previous year.
