OREANDA-NEWS. "Concern Galnaftogaz" begins work on preparing the company's strategy of social responsibility that will define the goals and directions for several years ahead and will be based on best global practices. This said director of the "Concern Galnaftogaz" ("OKKO" network) Nazar Kupybida, presenting non-financial report of the company for the 2012 among CSR-experts on the 9th of October in Kyiv. Their recommendations and suggestions the company will take into account both in preparing future reports and in the formation of own strategy of social responsibility.

The participation in the discussion of "Concern Galnaftogaz" non-financial report took CSR-managers of large Ukrainian companies, NGO representatives, scientists. Moderator of the event was the coordinator of the UN Global Compact network in Ukraine Anna Danylyuk. From her point of view, every year more and more Ukrainian companies are aware of its responsibility to society. And for them the experience of those businesses, which were the first in the country that began to develop the direction of CSR systematically, is extremely valuable. "For Ukrainian companies experience of a frank CSR-reports discussion is relatively new, however, it is useful, because the model of CSR itself is in the process of creating in Ukraine. In a frank discussion, as it was during the discussion of "Concern Galnaftogaz" non-financial report, our "Ukrainian model of CSR" is smartened on the basis of international best practices and practical experience and realities of the national company", - says Anna Danylyuk.

"The dialogue with the community is an important tool of transparency and accountability of companies in the world. In Ukraine, this practice is not common yet. That's why it is very pleased that "Concern Galnaftogaz" organized such a dialogue. It demonstrates the high level of transparency of companies and their desire to heed opinions of the stakeholders. I hope that the company will actively implement in its CSR-strategy all received advices, over which it is currently working" - adds Marina Saprykina, head of the Centre "CSR Development".

Since 2008 "Concern Galnaftogaz" regularly publishes non-financial reports, but the report of 2012 was signed by the method and the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative GRI for the first time. Also this year, the company decided to present its non-financial report to the general public of experts, scientists, businessmen for the first time. The purpose of these discussions is to get live feedback from external audience, so the company strives to improve the quality of its projects in the field of CSR, and the quality of reporting to the public.

"Our next step is to work on large-format strategy of corporate responsibility of the company, - says the manager of the Corporate Responsibility of "Concern Galnaftogaz" Irina Mironova. - The discussion of our non-financial report within the company at first, and then among the experts, has already given us many useful advices and interesting ideas that can be applied in the preparation of the strategy".

"Concern Galnaftogaz" is one of the largest employers and taxpayers in Ukraine. In 2012 the company created more than 750 workplaces and paid nearly UAH 3,4 billion of taxes. At the same time the company actively invests heavily in the introduction of energy-saving technologies, environmental protection, accessibility programs, quality control of fuel and communications with customers.
