UTair Showcases New Services for UN in New York
OREANDA-NEWS. UTair Group showcased its new air transport service offering for UN representatives at the Russian Federation Mission in the United Nations in New York. UTair has been providing contractual air transport services for the UN since 1991 and is now the largest supplier of air transport services for the organization.
At present eight UN peacekeeping support missions make use of 40 helicopters, 5 aircraft and nearly 450 cabin and engineering staff provided by UTair.
Apart from traditional helicopter operations, UTair provides passenger aircraft operations for UN personnel. UTair Cargo, a division of UTair Group, provides cargo operations with An-74 aircraft. UTair South Africa has been granted status of a certified UN supplier and signed an initial contract for aircraft operations.
Guests of the presentation were familiarized with UTair's current fleet modernization and expansion programs, including the arrival of new Airbus А321 and Boeing 737-800/900 aircraft and the capacities of Russian made Mi-171, Mi-26 and Ka-32 helicopters.
The event hosted special guests and representatives of international and business communities, including Ambassador Extraordinary, Plenipotentiary and Permanent Russian Representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin and UTair CEO Andrey Martirosov.
UTair Aviation ranks among the top three Russian airlines. In 2013 UTair aircraft transported 10 million passengers. The airline's fleet consists of more than 150 aircraft and 350 helicopters of Russian and foreign manufacture. The airline maintains its central hub at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, from which it performs more than 100 daily flights to 110 destinations in Russia and aboard. UTair is a member of the IATA and certified by the IATA Operational Safety Audit. UTair Group demonstrates high operational results, with IFRS total revenue for 2012 at 79.65 billion rubles, 43.9% over 2011, with passenger operations growth of 24.3% and a total of 9,385,398 passengers transported in that year. UTair Group passenger turnover grew by 29.4% over 2011 and totaled 16,072,900,200 pkm.
