EnBW Aims to Streamline Board of Management
OREANDA-NEWS. Against the backdrop of the continued economic challenges of the energy sector and as part of the company's organisational repositioning, the Supervisory Board and Board of Management of EnBW Energie Baden-Wurttemberg AG have agreed to reduce the Board of Management until further notice to four areas of responsibility, rather than the present five, during the company's current difficult phase. After implementing the planned merger of five core companies with EnBW AG and the related simplification of structures and processes, the company plans to no longer operate sales, marketing, trading and distribution grids as a separate Board of Management area of responsibility. This represents a further step towards the streamlining of the company's organisation.
As a consequence, the Supervisory Board and EnBW Board of Management member Dirk Mausbeck, who is currently responsible for sales, marketing, trading and distribution grids, have agreed that Dirk Mausbeck will step down from the company by the time his current appointment ends on 30 September 2014. The core sales and marketing tasks will then be conducted within the area of responsibility of CEO Frank Mastiaux, while decisions relating to the allocation of trading and distribution will be taken in the near future.
Claus Dieter Hoffmann, Supervisory Board Chairman of EnBW commented as follows: “We are very appreciative of Mr. Mausbeck's capabilities and performance. For this reason, I would like to thank him particularly for being prepared to accompany us on our reorganisation path and to support these changes within the Board of Management, as well as for implementing at the given time the transfer of the tasks entailed within his area of responsibility.”
As Frank Mastiaux, CEO of EnBW went on to add: “The EnBW Board of Management team has pushed ahead successfully with the company's reorientation over the past months, and we will continue to pursue this path together over the upcoming months - as a team, and also at the uppermost management level, with consistency and a keen awareness of responsibility.”
For his part, Dirk Mausbeck commented: “Until I step down, I will pursue my responsibilities as a Board of Management member professionally and with full commitment to the company EnBW, its shareholders and its employees. This is a matter of course as far as I am concerned.”
