OREANDA-NEWS. The Rostov branch of IC Allianz, supported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rostov Region, held a roundtable discussion on the topic "Condition, Trends and Prospects for Development of Medical Institutions of Different Ownership Types". The important healthcare issues were discussed by the representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, heads of the Rostov and Pyatigorsk branches of IC Allianz, as well as directors and lawyers of the largest Rostov clinics.

The roundtable discussion was opened by Yury Kornyush, advisor to the President of CCI and member of the Coordination Board for control of execution of the targeted program for modernization of healthcare in Rostov Region. He delivered a speech on the topic "Healthcare in Rostov Region: State of Affairs, Trends, and Prospects".

The main speakers at the event were heads of regional divisions of IC Allianz. Ms. Galina Khromova, deputy head of the Rostov branch for corporate sales, told about the healthcare financing and the role of voluntary medical insurance in extending the extrabudgetary financing of medical institutions. The report of Ms. Olga Churakova, deputy head of the Rostov branch for corporate sales, was dedicated to the efficient ways to protect company against any unfavorable circumstances. Mr. Vadim Karyov, head of the Pyatigorsk branch of IC Allianz, delivered a speech on the topic "Legal Liability of Medical Personnel and Healthcare Institutions".

The issue of insurance coverage of medical professionals' liability, including the same under the program "Allianz Clinic", aroused much interest among the roundtable participants. Directors and lawyers of the leading Rostov clinics attending the event actively discussed with Allianz speakers the terms and conditions of the insurance contracts covering medical professionals' liability, and loss settlement practices for such policies.

The event was closed with the speech of Mr. Grigory Boldyrev, head of the Centre for Support of Small and Medium Business in the Russian South, expert of the Interparliamentary Commission for Modernization and Technical Development of the Russian economy. He supported the insurers' initiative to promote the programs for insurance protection of medical institutions and proposed to continue active cooperation with small and medium businesses in this respect.
