OREANDA-NEWS. Uzbekistan and Latvia signed several documents in the results of negotiations between President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and President of Latvia Andris Berzins on 17 October 2013.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov paid an official visit to Latvia on 16-17 October 2013 on invitation of his Latvian counterpart Andris Berzins. In particular, the Presidents of two nations signed a joint statement of the heads of the states.

The Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Latvia signed an agreement on cooperation in healthcare and medical science.

Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan and Ministry of Transport of Latvia signed a memorandum of understanding in transport and transit spheres.

Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan and Ministry of Economy of Latvia signed a memorandum of understanding on measures on developing of bilateral trade relations.

The State Committee of Uzbekistan on nature protection and Ministry of environment and regional development of Latvia signed an agreement on ecologic cooperation.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia inked a programme of cooperation for 2014-2016.

Earlier, on 11 October 2013 Uzbektourism national company and Latvian Tourism Development State Agency (TAVA) signed a memorandum of cooperation in tourism sector.
