OREANDA-NEWS. Mr. Jorgen Buhl Rasmussen, President & CEO of Carlsberg Group, was appointed as the new European Co-Chair of the EU-Russia Industrialists' Roundtable (IRT), succeeding Mr. Peter Loscher, former President and CEO of Siemens. The Chairmanship of the IRT is shared with Mr. Anatoly Chubais, Director General of Rusnano, who remains in his position as Co-Chair from Russian side.

“I am honored to take up the position of Co-Chair of the IRT Council. We have accomplished a lot over the past years and I am motivated to continue and build on the excellent work that was done in enhancing relations between the European Union and Russia and to further focus on topics that are high on the common agenda and that will benefit business. I look forward to working together closely with Mr. Chubais and the IRT Council members, to further develop the strategic partnership between Russia and the EU,” said Jorgen Buhl Rasmussen, IRT-Co-Chairman and President & CEO of Carlsberg Group.

Mr. Chubais welcomed this appointment. “I have known Jorgen Buhl since long ago as a very active member of the IRT Council and as a strong and committed leader of the Carlsberg Group, one of the biggest foreign direct investors in Russia. I am confident our co-chairmanship will contribute to further strengthening of the EU-Russia economic ties”, - said Mr Chubais.

Mr. Rasmussen is CEO & President of Carlsberg since 2007 and was appointed to the Executive Board of Carlsberg A/S in 2006. Prior to joining Carlsberg, he held senior managerial positions covering Western, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia in several global FMCG companies, among others Procter & Gamble, Gillette Group, Duracell, Mars and Unilever.

The IRT was established in 1997 upon the suggestion of the political leaders of both the EU and Russia.
