OREANDA-NEWS. Dmitry Petrovichev, coach of the sports and health improvement shop of NGDU "Almetyevneft" of JSC TATNEFT won one gold, two silver and one bronze medals at the 21st world kettlebell lifting championship held in Athens (Loutraki suburb).

The championship was attended by the representatives of 20 national teams from all around the world, including the teams from Russia and Tatarstan. Tatarstan is entitled to nominate a team of kettlebell lifters separately from the Russian team for its great contribution in the development of this sport in the Republic at the international level competitions.

The athletes presented in different weight categories from 60 to 90 kg and above competed in kettlebell double-event: jerk (lifting two kettlebells from the chest) and burst (kettlebell lifting with one hand to the full arm's amplitude) as well as in the kettlebell lifting relay.

Dmitry Petrovichev received the gold award for a hundred liftings of two 32 - kilogram weights in the jerk, while he received the silver ones for a good performance in the international double event as a whole.

The Tatarstan team won a bronze medal in the weight lifting relay.
