OREANDA-NEWS. ASTARTA's production units carry out strong sugar beet harvesting and processing campaign. All ASTARTA's sugar plants in four regions of Ukraine are effectively put into operation. As of October 16th more than 45 thousand tons of high quality white sugar was produced.

Sugar beet has been harvested on 50% of total area. The average yield in ASTARTA's farms exceeds 51 tons per hectare. Currently there is a positive dynamics in sugar beet yield and quality growth, providing for weight accumulation and sugar content increase. Professional seed selection campaign conducted by our specialists strongly contributed to high quality storage process as well as production effectiveness.

Self-sufficiency level in sugar beet is estimated at the level of 85% ensuring accurate delivery of high-quality sugar beet as well as maintaining stable long-term cooperation with local farmers.

This year ASTARTA invested more than 80 million UAH in perfecting of sugar quality, achieving higher level of energy efficiency, increasing processing capacities and environmental impact reduction.
