OREANDA-NEWS. Up to 550 Anhui-based enterprises are attending the 114th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.

The number of their booths reach 1,478, with exhibits covering 45 sectors like vehicles, furniture and garments.

36 out of them are appearing at the fair for the first time.

The companies will seize the favorable opportunity of attending the country's major import and export fair amid a slowdown in the province's foreign trade growth beginning July, sources with the Anhui Provincial Department of Commerce said.

At last year's event, corporations from Anhui province reached deals worth USD 2.12 billion, up 9 percent from a year earlier.

The 114th Canton Fair is expected to attract 24,517 businesses from across the world. The first phase is scheduled for October 15 to 19.
